Okay I have to let a little rant out now and then, and this is most definately NOW.

I appreciate everyone's idea of art, weather or not I like it, art is art. But something has been getting under my skin more and more. Anime. I like a realy well done anime pic or movie. But anime is quickly becoming the place where all the wannabes are flocking. Anime is an art style that either your realy good at, or your not quite good enough to suck at. The vast majority is in the latter of the two groups. You like anime? Draw away! Drawing anime because it's the easiest art form to get semi- close to 'right' then go home!

To further my rant, take the 3D rendering of the woman I have on my fav list. If there is a flaw in a picture like that, it is quickly noticed, pointed out, and probly corrected. But if you find a flaw that is just an eye sore - you can't say the piece is wonderfull...

Now take an anime drawing. Because most people can't do it like the very few realy talented anime artists, the style has come to accept half assed work as well done. Most of the trend followers can only acomplish the sharp directional changes, small body -> large head ratio, spiky hair, huge eyes, and extreme mouth sizes. Thats not what anime is, look at the good anime - there is alot more to it.
